What CST and IST grade what you allocate yourself for this project? Justify your response.

For this project I would give myself an A. This is because i got along well with my group and worked to the best of my ability, we had fun doing the work and helped each other out when we were having any problems

What could you do tonight that would improve your grade?

Tonight i could go to the school site and look at the group and individual rubric and see if there is anything me or my group has missed out and if I or we have missed out on anything, to then add it to our project.

What grade do you think your team will give you for teamwork? Why?

I think my group should get an A. This is because we all worked very well as a team and were enthusiastic to do the group work. We all did our work to the best best of the ability. My group also didn’t waste anytime, we were the first group to start filming because we didn’t want to be struggling on the last days when the project was due.

Thinking about your presentation on Monday, what do you need to do to score an “A” grade? (hint: Look at the presentation skills). What could you do before Monday, to ensure you receive an “A”?

Well firstly we could take 1 last look at the rubric and see if there is anything we missed out on or add anything that is missing. Also all sit down as a group and watch it together and make and final touches that are in te way of us not getting an A.

Investigate the two types of sight defect- long-sightedness and short sightedness.

Find the following information:

long-sightedness can also be known as hyperopia. Hyperopia is the inability to see near objects as clearly as distant objects, and the need for accommodation to see distant objects clearly. The symptoms of this are

1. Blurred vision

2. Difficulty seeing objects up close

3. Crossing of the eyes in children

Hyperopia is commonly treated using corrective lenses, such as eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Short sightedness or Myopia is the inability to see distant objects as clearly as near objects.The symptoms of this are:

1. Blurred vision

2. Difficulty seeing distant objects

3. Sits close to computer or TV

4. Hold things close to the face

What influences your values about issues relating to your life?

Well there any many things that influence me about issues relating to my life, but one of the big ones is the media. Whenever i am unsure of a story or want to know more information, most of time i watch the news to watch what happens and to get a better understanding. Today people believe everything they hear and especially it is on the news. The media has a special ways of making peoples views on different types of stories and issues.

Do you ever compare images/values presented by the media to those of the bible? If so why? If not why not?

No i dont compare images of jesus to the media but sometimes i do compare values. I dont actually look at thebible and compare the values but i remember what the bible says and compare them in my head, not always but whenever it is relating to religion in some way.

Has this project challenged you to examine your values? Why / Why not

Well in some cases yes, because there have been different social justice issues that i have researched and many of them relate to indivdidual opinion an what we think. So i have been able to examine myself in some issues to see if something is right or wrong or if i agree to what is been said or shown.

The Elizabethan Era is the period associated with Queen Elizabeth I’s reign (1558–1603) and is often considered to be the golden age in English history. It was the height of the English Renaissance and saw the flowering of English poetry and literature. This was also the time during which Elizabethan theatre flourished and William Shakespeare and many others, composed plays that broke free of England’s past style of plays and theatre. It was an age of exploration and expansion abroad, while back at home, the Protestant Reformation became the national mindset of all the people.

The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare were most of Shakespeare’s famous plays were performed such as Romeo and Juliet. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare’s playing company, the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, and was destroyed by fire on June 29, 1613.^[1] A second Globe Theatre was rebuilt on the same site by June 1614 and closed in 1642.

A modern reconstruction of the Globe, named “Shakespeare’s Globe”, opened in 1997. It is approximately 230 metres (750 ft) from the site of the original theatre.

Tragedies, Comedies and Histories.

Tragedies in Shakespears plays are used to emphasise pain, hurt and suffering. One of his plays are “Romeo and Juliet” which are associated with this. How do you feel the media portrays social justice issues?

When media reports on social justice issues i have sometimes realised that only 1 side of the story is being shown. The media try to make and think the viewers to only judge their view on what is being shown, which could be from reliable or unreliable sources. Depending on how reliable the source is never believe everything you hear because it could be false and misleading. If you really want t find out the real story behind a particular social justice issue, it is good to watch different channels such as ABC and CNN to see of it matches what is being said on different media types. Also the Internet is a big source of information.

Has it been difficult to find articles on social justice issues why/why not?

It hasn’t been hard finding a social justice issue, but it has been hard finding a current social justice issue. It is hard becuae there are not many current reports about our groups social justice issue ” the death peanlty”.

Do you think that the media operates from a moral framework? Give evidence by using your research.

Yes they do because the meida cannot report anything which is not true and which they do not have evidence on.

1. Open and read the “How to write a critique” document in the resources menu.

Describe what a critique is.

A critique involves identifying critical things to say about an article and resisting the temptation to describe rather than analyse. Let’s look at the difference.

2. Outline the FOUR stages in a critique.

A critique usually has 4 parts:

· An introduction (which directs the reader’s attention to the publication and your response to it)

· A summary of the article

· Your analysis or critical commentary on the original text

· Your evaluation or conclusion

3. Can a critique be positive? Discuss.

From reading the word document “How to critique” I have found out that a critique can be negative positive and even mixed.

“Is weighing up the positive and negative aspects to decide what value you put on the article”

4. Critique the accuracy of the following articles:

Beijing Trap

The video is saying that billions of people contributed to the Beijing Olympics just so that it could capture American athletes. These reporters are saying that the Chinese are digging holes in the stadium covered by branches, and this is a one of the ways they are going to capture the American athletes.

These reporters are saying things without evidence or any backup to what they are saying. It’s just basically their own opinion. This report would get the attention of viewers because of the reporters are claiming, but there is no evidence of any of their claims being true This labels the show “ In the know” as a unreliable source.

Donkey Basketball

This video is a report on a donkey named scraps that has been chosen to play donkey basketball. The story seems true providing us with reliable resources such as footage, statistics and expert opinion.

But really the story is taken overboard. The donkey is really playing in a fundraiser and not in the professional league. The whole report is about a donkey playing in a fundraising game. But has been blown out of proportion.

Optical fibres have been used in many medical applications. To be more precise and accurate, they are used in medical imaging such as in bronchoscopes, endoscopes and laparoscopes. This helps better look at the body.

identify the traditional medical techniques that optical fibres might replace

Traditionally they insert a pill with a camera to examine the interior of the body. so the optical fiberes can replace many things

Evaluate the benefits of fibre optic technology to medicine

The benefits to medicine are that you can identify the disease or cure more accurately and get more information on the specimen. If this works well it can lead to the making of new medicines to cure diseases.

4. Is this media account correct or reliable? Why? Yes it is reliable because it shows both sides of the story and is not biased. Also it has professionals giving their opinion. 1. Describe TWO things that you have learnt during this lesson.

In this lesson I have learnt the contract for my group and the class. This was done by the whole class instead of individual groups. Everyone in the class contributed fair rules for, group work, work ethic and absences. The second thing that I learnt was what the new project was about, the class also got put into their new groups.

2. Identify TWO areas you want to concentrate on during this project that you think need a greater improvement from the last project.

The first thing I could improve from last project, this project is my work ethic with my group. I have to communicate well with my new team and be more respectful to my teamates.The second thing I want to improve on this project is achieving higher marks. I want to try my best to do better than what I did last term, so that means that i have to put 100% into all my work and make sure that my group is on track and working hard so we can achieve the best marks possible.

3. Discuss TWO ways in which your group could resolve any disputes during this process.

Well in our class today we have implemented the 3 strike rule. This means that each team member can be given strikes from teammates if misbehaving or not completing or handing in work. If the group member receives 3 strikes, he will be reported to the teacher, where a demerit or detention will be issued. The second way we could settle disputes is by a group vote, the group will have a chance to decide what happens.

1. Has your image of Jesus changed during the project? How or Why not?

My image of Jesus hasn’t really changed this project, but i have learnt about all the time periods that Jesus was included in and also how he was represented due to the events that occured in a particular time period.

2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why?

I believe the most effective way to portray an image of Jesus is through art or images. This is because you can visually see the drawing or painting and straight away see what sort of emotions or messages that artwork is trying to get across.

3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently?

So far in this project i have enjoyed researching different time periods,i have found some interesting artworks such as the last supper and last judgment. I found these 2 paintings interesting so i started to do further research and was surprised on what i found. I have also learnt about different artists and what movement or period they focused on. What i would do differntly is set each member of my group to go nd research a time period and come back to the group with some dot points to share with the group, so we can understand what each time period is about.
